A COMIC who is half of a double act with a series of his own animated characters is heading for Swindon.

Howard Read’s live theatre credits include the Royal Variety Performance, while his TV appearances include Little Howard’s Big Question on CBBC and BBC1.

He brings his latest live offering, called Hide and Speak, to the Arts Centre on Wednesday, April 9.

The audience is promised: “A totally unique comedy experience where Howard’s own technology allows cartoon stand-ups to come to life and improvise with the audience.

“He really is taking live comedy into the second dimension.”

Howard is best known for his animated alter-ego, a six-year-old comedian called Little Howard. Like Howard’s other characters, he is able to interact and improvise with live audiences thanks to the technology used in the act.

In addition to making frequent TV appearances and giving countless live shows, Howard has been nominated for awards including the Perrier.

Tickets for Wednesday’s show, which starts at 8pm and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and over, cost £12, with concessions available at £10.

They can be obtained by calling the ticket office on 01793 524481 or visiting swindontheatres.co.uk.
