CORNWALL’s best-loved comic will be sharing his alternative look at life at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon next week.

Comedy legend Jethro is back, larger than life, and on tour in 2014 with his very own unique brand of irresistible West Country tales for a fun-filled night of adult comedy on Wednesday, April 23.

Jethro promises more tear-jerking, farcical stories featuring his old mates Denzil and Slip Along Trevaskis, as well as hilarious tales from his extensive repertoire and his successful career in TV and theatre.

Jethro is the stage name of Geoffrey Rowe, who is based in Lewdown in Devon. Rowe was born in 1948 in St Buryan, in Cornwall.

After leaving school, he worked as an apprentice carpenter before becoming a timber man in a tin mine.

At the age of 18, he joined the St Just and District Operatic Society and, as well as his bass voice, he discovered that he had a talent for making an audience laugh.

He began visiting the pubs of Cornwall to sing and joke and was quickly hailed as Cornwall’s top comic.
