THE crowd will be left saying ‘thank you for the music’ when the Abba Reunion tribute show comes to the Wyvern Theatre.

The touring show, which comes to Swindon on May 15, features an evening full of the hits of Abba, one of the world’s most iconic pop groups.

Having taken Europe by storm in 1974 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo, Abba went on to top pop charts worldwide for more than a decade.

Vikki Holland-Bowyer, who has been performing as Frida for 14 years, said: “It’s a fantastic, feel good show. You will see people aged from four to 84 dancing in the aisles and singing along.

“We had a lady practically hanging over the balcony and she waited behind at the end of the show and told us ‘I’m 84 and I have never danced so much in my life’.

“Now, with Mamma Mia, the film and the musical, we get a lot of youngsters coming in who love Abba songs too. It appeals to everyone.

“Being Frida is a job I absolutely adore.

“Every night is exciting and the audience really make it for us.”

This year is the 40th anniversary of Abba’s timeless classic, Waterloo, and Vikki says they have a special finale lined up to celebrate.

Now in its 10th year, the show has become internationally recognised as one of the top world-class authentic Abba experiences.

The unique Abba sound is replicated with incredible attention to detail, using a six-piece band featuring electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano, drums and bass guitar.

The show starts at 7.30pm. For tickets or for more information call 01793 524481 or visit www.swindontheatres.uk.
