HUNDREDS of children are set to have one of their first experiences of theatre on Saturday.

CBeebies favourites Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee, from Show Me Show Me, will be performing at the Wyvern Theatre on Saturday, April 19 as part of their roadshow.

The show will include songs, jokes and plenty of audience participation.

Pui, who played Po in the Teletubbies, said: “For a high percentage of our audience it will be their first visit to the theatre in their lives. I like to think our show is accessible to all. It’s a very family-orientated, old-fashioned show but it’s not a dinosaur of a show,” she said.

“It’s like going to a good old knees up – there are no special effects or strobes. I think that’s why it works.”

The show includes songs, jokes, messing around, dressing up and lots of audience participation.

“There are lots of old fashioned nursery rhymes and old fashioned songs done in the Chris and Pui way,” said Pui.

“We don’t make people sing but they tend to join in. It’s great because the whole theatre is filled with people singing, A lot of people lose their inhibitions and you can tell they are really enjoying it.”

Performances are at 11am and 2pm on Saturday, April 19. For tickets, which are £13 for adults or £11 for children, call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
