OUTSPOKEN funny man Hardeep Singh Kohli will be sharing his experiences of love and romance at Swindon Arts Centre this month.

The comedian, broadcaster, journalist and chef, who is a regular voice on BBC Radio 4, will be performing his new show, Hardeep Is Your Love, at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 23.

“When you get to my age and look like me it’s always going to be a laugh,” said the 45-year-old.

“It’s a very honest show – everything in it has actually happened.

“For a lot of people, love is quite difficult to get your hands on. As you get older you get a little bit more set in your ways.”

The show is part of an autumn tour of the comedian’s debut stand-up comedy show, which follows a critically acclaimed spring tour and a successful season at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014.

Hardeep, who was surprised at how well the show went down at the Edinburgh Fringe, said making fun of himself comes naturally as a Glaswegian, “Coming from Glasgow, as I do, we have a great tradition of self deprecation. I take the mick out of myself a lot, which means people are more inclined to laugh with you than at you,” he said.

“You only have to look at me to know I’m not going to be good at being in love.”

The show has evolved since he first performed it at the Edinburgh Fringe as it was written about a previous girlfriend – they split up just after the national tour was booked.

It now includes material as recent as three weeks ago. He has a new girlfriend who he thought was a lesbian when they first met.

Hardeep has been seen on television shows ranging from Question Time and This Week, to The One Show and Celebrity MasterChef.
