THE CURTAIN will come down on the Stage Struck group, but not before a final production to crown 31 years of amateur theatre in Swindon.

The comedy and music group’s last ever pantomime, Cinderella, will run at the Arts Centre between Tuesday, November 25 and Saturday 29.

In a twist on the traditional fairy tale, poor Cinders, Buttons, and the Fairy Godmother fight the Wicked Stepsisters and ensure the heroine gets to the ball in time to meet her prince charming.

With a host of crazy characters, songs, dances, sing-alongs, audience participation and lots of comedy, it’s not hard to see why Stage Struck pantos have been a firm favourite with their audiences over the decades.

As usual expect lots of mischief and mayhem with those masters of innuendo and double entendre.

Geoff Marsh, who has been at the helm of Stage Struck with Jane Marie Donald for the past 15 years, said: “It will be the last time Ken Jell and I do our double act in a Stage Struck show. He is 80 now and still does six costume changes.

“We have a fantastic Cinders in Natasha Grifiths and Sammy is Dandini.’’ said Geoff.

Stage Struck has always been a family affair with Geoff and Jane’s daughters Danielle and Samantha treading the boards alongside their parents, and it is to spend more time supporting the girls’ own stage craft at college that the couple are giving up Stage Struck.

Cinderella will run from Tuesday 25 to Friday 28 at 7pm and on Saturday 29 at 10.30am, 2pm and 7pm.

Tickets cost £11 or £10 for concessions and are available from Stage Struck on 01793 840757.
