ACTION, a police chase and a soupcon of criminality will be in store this month when Thelma & Louise hit the Wyvern screen.

The critically-acclaimed film, which received no fewer than six Academy Award nominations and won best original screenplay, will be shown for one night only as part of the theatre’s film series tomorrow, starting at 7.30pm.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the American drama stars Geena Davis as Thelma, and Susan Sarandon as Louise – two friends who embark on a road trip with disastrous consequences.

Louise is working in a diner as a waitress and has some problems with her boyfriend Jimmy, who, as a musician, is always on the road. As for Thelma, she is stuck in the role of the obedient wife, a life she cannot abide.

One day they decide to escape from their inconsequential lives and hit the road. Their journey, however, turns into a flight when Louise kills a man who threatens to rape Thelma. They decide to go to Mexico, but soon they are hunted by American police.

The film will be shown in the Wyvern Restaurant.

Tickets cost £12.50 and include a meal and milkshake.
