ANOTHER year, another pantomime brought to you by the Thames Water Amateur Theatrical Society’s motley crew.

To mark their 20th anniversary, the troupe, which has staged its fair share of hilariously eccentric productions at the Wyvern stage, has chosen to reinvent a classic tale: The Emperor’s New Clothes.

In the timeless story a vain emperor hires two swindlers who promise him the finest, best suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone unfit to appreciate his position, or is hopelessly stupid.

The Emperor's ministers cannot see the clothing themselves, but pretend they can, as do the townfolk, until a child notices...

Taking its inspiration from the original plot, the troupe will skillfully deviate from it and push the boundaries further to delight their audiences.

Emma Sarginson, of Thames Water Amateur Theatrical Society, said: “It really is time to get your tickets to this year’s pantomime, The Emperor’s New Clothes.

“We have some great new members to the cast and, of course, the usual suspects. It's not one to miss, so please get your tickets and let’s make this a sell-out.”

Proceeds from this year’s production will go to The British Heart Foundation, Brighter Futures’ Breast Cancer Appeal and Kidney Research UK. The show runs from Friday, January 23 to Saturday 24 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12. To book call 01793 524481 or go to swindontheatres.co.uk.
