A liberal dollop of Devonshire’s clotted cream in the form of a Downton Abbey-style comedy is heading for Swindon.
Anthos Arts, based in Exeter, has taken the famous William Shakespeare comedy Twelfth Night and set it at the end of the First World War.
Using the gentry versus the servants as a springboard for the original text, the players create a piece of experimental physical theatre that serves up old school satire.
Anthos is a collaborative theatre company that aims to involve the community. Twelfth Night is currently on tour and will be dropping in to the Phoenix Theatre in Swindon’s New College on Friday, March 6, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £7 with £5 concessions, email mattew.clift@newcollege.ac.uk or on the door.
