HE has dealt with politics (Hitler Moustache), religion (Christ on a Bike), tackled the serious subject of love (What is Love, Anyway?), death (We’re All Going to Die!) and even spam-javelins (Talking Cock).

In a frivolous mood for his 11th show in as many years, Richard Herring will now discuss daftness, feeling uncool while bouncing joyously on a sofa in Lord of the Dance Settee.

“This year the show is probably more gentle and less offensive than most shows I’ve done,” he says. “It’s about trying to recapture the lost past.

“But you never know, someone walked out of the show recently. So you’re never quite sure what’s going to be offensive.”

According to his website the irate spectator then suggested he spin jokes on garlic bread.

Richard rose to fame as part of a double act with Stewart Lee in BBC2 cult classics Fist of Fun and This Morning with Richard Not Judy in the 1990s. More recently he created a raft of Sony and Chortle Award winning podcasts including Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and As It Occurs To Me.

Richard Herring will be at the Arts Centre on Saturday, May 23 at 8pm. Tickets are £16. To book call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
