PUPILS from Seven Fields Primary School took a trip back in time on Wednesday(June24) ahead of a special production coming to the Wyvern Theatre this autumn.

Youngsters from the Penhill school visited the Corinium Museum, in Cirencester, to meet Wyvern Theatre staff decked out in Roan Centurion garb ahead of a Horrible Histories production coming to the theatre in October.

The children had history brought to life as part of the trip, during an artefact trail, before locking up their teachers in the stocks for a rare treat.

"Having first become popular as a series of gruesome children’s books, the Horrible Histories franchise has gone on to span television shows, magazines, theatre productions and more," said a spokesman for the show.

"The recently announced sixth series of the Horrible Histories BBC show has led to particularly high expectations for the current theatre tour.

"Using top actors and 3D special effects, the shows are guaranteed to thrill parent and children alike."

The Corinium Museum has national and international significance due to its vast historic collections, including ancient Roman artefacts.

It regularly hosts group visits and was pleased to welcome the Wyvern team and local school children on the day.
