A FESTIVE mood will descend on the Wyvern with The Russian State Ballet and Opera House’s new production of The Nutcracker.

One of Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositions the stunning ballet is based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written by E.T.A. Hoffmann and tells the story of Marie, a rather sad little girl, whose godfather Drosselmeyer gives her a nutcracker doll as a present on Christmas Eve.

But the toy turns into a prince and the magic begins. The seasonal favourite promises to take audiences on an unforgettable journey through music and the visual power of classical ballet. The Nutcracker will appear at the Wyvern Theatre on Sunday, October 25 at 7.30pm. Tickets start at £30. To book visit swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524 481.

And the the same company will be back with Madam Butterfly in February next year.
