SINCE volunteering for an experiment which aimed to locate the part of the brain that lights up when you’re in love, Robert Newman has cooked up The Brain Show.
A sworn enemy of neuro-babble he asks: Can brain scans read our minds? Are we our brains? How can you map the mind?
His epic battle against neuromania takes him to Stonehenge, the Guyanan jungle and features stripy spiders and bobtail squid.
His quest ends up in a showdown with a lab full of brain scientists who subject him to a sinister version of the Turing Test called the Donkey Test.
The show includes a specially constructed MRI-hat that will record Robert’s real-time brain activity.
The Brain Show comes to the Arts Centre on Sunday, November 15 at 8pm. Tickets are £16. To book go to swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524481.
