In anticipation of his latest visit MARION SAUVEBOIS has a look at comic’s CV

ED BYRNE had such a blast taking his new show to Swindon last year, he’s back for seconds. So if you missed him the first time around now is your chance.

You don’t know who we mean?

He’s the Irish guy on Mock The Week. No, not the bald one, the other one. You know him. The one Carol from work really likes. Wait, that might be Jason Byrne. Anyway… funny chap!

In Outside Looking In, Ed reflects on everything from life as a father and husband to feminism and transgenderism.

Ed’s stand-up career began at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.

As a student welfare officer he was regularly called upon to MC events and soon was being invited to perform around Scotland.

It wasn’t long before he packed in university and started a small comedy club in Glasgow.

From there he moved to London, where he started all over again with open spots and short sets on the club circuit, honing his material and developing the curmudgeonly yet nerdy persona we’ve all come to know.

A future combining a TV career and his passion for the outdoors is in sights as he has now broken into factual presenting. Over the past two years he has appeared in Dangerous Roads and Volcano Live on BBC2 and co-presented Dara & Ed’s Big Adventure.

He continues to be a serious outdoors enthusiast and recently climbed Mont Blanc for the second time.

Ed writes a regular column for The Great Outdoor Magazine and will be fitting in as much Munro Bagging as he possible can while on tour.

Ed Byrne appears at the Wyvern Theatre on Wednesday, January 20 at 8pm.
Tickets are £20.
