AFTER a two-year battle with ME, former royal harpist Claire Jones is touring once more a selection of classical pieces which sustained her during her slow and painful recovery.

In 2007, Claire was appointed official harpist to His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, a role she held until 2011, making her the longest serving royal harpist to date.

During this appointment, Claire regularly performed for the royal family and their guests. In April 2011 she performed for the newly married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their wedding reception in Buckingham Palace.

Her album Girl with a Golden Harp topped the classical charts in 2012 and made her a household name.

But ME brought her career to a screeching halt that year. Since then she’s been on a long and winding road back to health.

Her show at the Arts Centre features tracks from her latest album Journey – the soundtrack to Claire’s own journey.

Join her and her musical guests for an evening of sweeping melodies and virtuosic harp playing as she shares the melodies which helped her to heal.

Claire Jones appears at the Arts Centre on Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 and available on 01793 524481 or at swindontheatres.co.uk.
