MEMBERS of the Joli Vyann Company, best known for fusing circus and dance skills into their performances, are coming to Swindon.

Imbalance is a show based on the idea of our obsession with technology. It has been choreographed by Olivier award nominee, Jonathan Lunn, and in true Joli style is a mix of acrobatics and dance performed with grace and athleticism.

The dance piece is coming to Swindon Dance in the Town Hall Studios, Regent Circus on Friday, February 5 from 7.45pm.

Asking whether our lives are in or out of balance thanks to technology, Imbalance blurs the boundaries of where the dance ends and the circus skills begin.

The show is part of the Shift and Share collaboration, a Pavillion South West Strategic Touring Funded Project, which aims to bring dance to wider audiences in the region. It is funded by the Arts Council.

Joli Vyann was set up in 2012 by Olivia Quale and Jan Patzke and the company takes workshops and classes for all ages and abilities as well as working with community groups.

In 2014 the company collaborated with The National Theatre in a show called Crazy In Love and last year their show, Stateless, was premiered at the London International Mime Festival.

Tickets for the Swindon production are £11 and £9 with groups of 10 or more costing £7 each from 01793 601700. – Flicky Harrison
