YOUNG talent from a theatre arts school in Swindon recently took to the stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End.

18 students from Stagecoach Theatre Arts Swindon performed their own piece called ‘Vanity’ with songs including ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Ray on the stage usually accustomed to welcoming West End legends.

The troupe had been practicing their routine for 10 weeks and joined 15 other Stagecoach schools from across the country in their taste of West End stardom.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Swindon principal, Sheryll Fox said she could not have been more proud of her rising stars. She said: "It was great seeing the pupils on stage in the West End. This is a stage that hosts famous shows such as the Phantom of the Opera, so for students to perform on the same stage is really exciting for them. I was so proud of them and the audience were thrilled with their performance."

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Swindon is part of a network of more than 600 part-time Theatre Arts Schools worldwide. Early Stages classes are available for children aged 4 to 6 and Main Stages classes take place for 6 to 18 year olds. Former Stagecoach students include Eleanor Tomlinson, Josh Cuthbert, Emma Watson, Tom Fletcher, Charlotte Jaconelli, Dani Harmer, and Jamie Bell.
