Walking with elephants is an every day occurrence for Saba Douglas-Hamilton.

The conservationist and wildlife television presenter runs a tented eco-lodge called Elephant Watch Camp in Kenya, with her husband and three children.

She is currently on a UK tour with her new show, A Life With Elephants, and she will be packing her trunk and heading for Swindon's Wyvern Theatre on April 17.

Saba was born in Kenya on the seventh day of the week, at 7pm on June 7 and she is the seventh grandchild - but she has a sixth sense when it comes to wild animals.

In 1997 she joined her father's charity Save The Elephants and it was while she was working in the Samburu National Reserve that she was approached by the BBC.

She is best known for her work on shows such as Big Cat Diaries and The Wild Life which was screened on BBC2 in September. The show was based on their lives in Samburu.

When she comes to Swindon, probably not with her elephants, Saba will tell tales of her life in Kenya, her work with Save The Rhino Trust in Namibia, and as anthropological consultant for the National Museums of Kenya.

Saba said: "Come and join me for a fun evening of tales from bush for all the family. Meet the wonderful wild creatures that we’ve come to know and love, share the excitement of our closest encounters, and laugh at all the crazy stuff that happens when one lives in a remote corner of Africa."

An evening with Saba Douglas-Hamilton also has a question and answer session. The show begins at 7.30pm in the Wyvern Theatre. Tickets are £16.50 - £18.50 from 01793 524481. - Flicky Harrison
