Larmer Tree Festival is giving a sneak peak of the hottest shows travelling to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

Larmer Tree Festival, which runs from July 13 to July 17, will be welcoming the late-night comedy club to the ARC stage headlined by celebrated comedians Mark Steel, Paul Foot, Sam Simmons and The Boy with Tape on his Face.

Larmer Tree Festival are introducing a series of Edinburgh Previews, hosted in The Pavilion and hand-picked by festival director Julia Safe.

“We’ve created a brilliant opportunity for our Larmer Tree audience to get a sneak preview of nine shows which will be premiering at the Fringe. No need to travel all the way to Edinburgh, get a little taste at Larmer Tree!” said Julia Safe, Festival Director.

Supported  will come from Phil Nichol, Tiff Stevenson, Max and Ivan, Stuart Goldsmith, John Hastings, Brett Goldstein, Jen Brister, Jonny Awsum, Laura Lexx, Tom Webb, Danny Ward and Barry Ferns.

Mark Steel, who recently appeared in Swindon, has been honing his superb stand-up for more than 30 years. He will be headlining the comedy club on Friday night with his characteristic mix of storytelling and politics.

Paul Foot returns to Larmer Tree to headline Saturday night with his eccentric and outlandish comic genius. Paul is out to recruit the Larmer Tree audience to The Guild of Paul Foot Connoisseurs with his bonkers observations on both the big issues and the banal.

New to the festival is Australian absurdist Sam Simmons, fresh from winning the Foster’s Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Barry Award at Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Performing on Sunday night, The Boy with Tape on his Face performs ‘silent stand-up‘ which has brought mime into the modern day.

A first for Larmer Tree Festival 2016 will be a live on-site recording of the acclaimed Comedian’s Comedian Podcast. As well as performing stand-up at the festival, Stu Goldsmith will record a new episode for his series, which asks fellow comedians - what makes them tick? He’ll be giving one of our comperes Tiff Stevenson a grilling about all things comedy in front of a Larmer Tree audience, before releasing the podcast to the general public.
