IF they haven’t yet read E. Nesbit’s heart-warming story of adventure and family, now is the time to introduce your brood to The Railway Children.

The classic tale has delighted adults and children alike for generations and will be brought to life once more by Chapterhouse Theatre Company against the atmospheric industrial backdrop of the STEAM Museum on August 20.

The lives of three children are changed forever by the mysterious disappearance of their father. Finding a new home in a beautiful but isolated village they make friends and discover the wonders of the Yorkshire hills and the railway lines scattered across them.

Complete with period costumes, traditional music and songs and a host of memorable characters, The Railway Children is ideal for a summer evening’s entertainment.

It starts 6.30pm. Tickets are £14 for adults and £10 for children. To book tickets call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
