The tears of a clown add poignancy to slapstick but for Zoe Lyons it is being an outsider that gives her the edge in stand-up.

Her latest tour, Little Misfit, is heading for Swindon next month full of sharp one-liners, observational humour and a geeky dance.

Zoe is a well known face on television having appeared in Live At The Apollo on BBC2, Comedy Gala on Channel 4, Mock The Week, Pointless Celebrities, and The John Bishop Show on BBC 1.

School can be a tough place when you don't belong in anyone's gang, your hair is falling out through alopecia, and you fancy the blonde one in Charlie's Angels.

The comedian survived and stored away a whole theatre show of material which went down a storm this summer at the Edinburgh Festival.

Zoe found her comedy feet while training to become an actress at the Poor School in London. She went on to win the Funny Women Competition in 2004 and during her debut Edinburgh show she was nominated as Best Newcomer a the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She was winner of Celebrity Mastermind and this year was nominated for Best Compere at the Chortle Comedy Awards.

"I am really looking forward to hitting the road with my new show, Little Misfit. Revisiting some favourite venues as well as performing in places for the first time. So many new Travelodges to explore, exciting!" said Zoe.

Little Misfit comes to the Swindon Arts Centre, Devizes Road, in Old Town on Friday, October 7 at 8pm. Tickets are £16.75 from 01793 524481 - Flicky Harrison
