THERE'S no telling when inspiration will strike. Left scratching his head for a suitably barmy title for his new tour, Ross Noble hit the jackpot chancing upon review of his DVD on Amazon.

"They wrote, "This is just like a massive brain dump," and I thought: Oh yeah, that's exactly what my stuff is! I'll have that," explains the Geordie comic.

In Brain Dump, he is back doing what he does best: plucking random ideas floating around his head and turning them into solid stand-up routines.

And if his stint investigating UFO landings in Swindon as guest editor of the Adver is anything to go by, he knows how to spin a good tale out of, well, nothing much really.

Ross Noble has been performing since he was smuggled in to his local comedy club at the age of 15. Licensing laws meant that immediately after his slot he had to leave through the kitchen – but he has never looked back.

In the years since, he has been nominated for the Perrier Award, Barry Award, and was named Time Out award winner for best live stand-up. Never afraid to take risks, or thrown himself at the mercy of his fans, in 2014 he appeared in 'Twitter-powered travelogue' series Freewheeling in which he put his fate completely in the hands of his 300,000 Twitter followers to decide every step of his journey.

He has also appeared on the likes of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Have I Got News for You and Room 101. He occasionally dabbles in acting and recently trod the boards alongside Jason Manford in The Producers and played a killer clown in the movie Stitches.

Brain Dump at the Wyvern tonight is sold out. But Noble will be back in Swindon on January 18, 2017. To book go to swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524481.
