As a youngster Sally Stocks flaunted her flute at a masterclass by one of the best known flute players in the world, James Galway, before earning her place in the Royal College of Music.

Sally emigrated Down Under and became a soloist and chamber musician, before taking up the position of Professor of Flute at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music.

She then moved to the Canary Islands and became principal flute with La Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria.

Finally she returned to the UK in 1992. Her CD Cantilena' with Swindon's own concert pianist Paul Turner has been released on the Prologue label following their celebrated Wigmore Hall concert.

Sally is again performing with Paul at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon on Wednesday, January 25 from 1.05pm when they will perform sonatas by Poulenc and Martinu, and softer summer folk from Doppler and Richard Rodney Bennet.
