THE curtain is almost ready to go up on Wootton Bassett School of Dance's latest performance.

More than 200 dancers will fill the theatre's stage during three performances this weekend.

School principal Kate Lawrence said: "The dance photographed is called 'Seven Little Girls' part of a section called 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and performed by seven of our regular dancers aged seven to eight who just love the chance to perform on stage, especially the Wyvern.

"The beautiful dresses worn by the Seven Little Girls were designed and made by Jennie Matfin at J Dance Design.

"The opportunity for them at The Wyvern Theatre will also include over 200 other performers in what is our fourteenth dance show and our third at the Swindon Wyvern.

"And now we 'Can’t Stop the Feeling' that this show will be the best yet. With all our wonderful children taking part we are sure that our audiences will enjoy it.

"Our pupils will take to the stage this year and perform some of our more exciting dance routines choreographed by Vicky Lawrence, senior teacher at the school, and include a variety of dance routines some containing acrobatic performances in a show lasting over two hours.

"Other content includes Ballet “Bach to Mozart”, Bulgarian and Hungarian National dances, together with a superb “Jackson Tribute” and then concluding with “We are the World”.

Speaking of the school's continued success Brian Lawrence added: "The dance school continues to expand and advance in exploring new opportunities for the children of all ages from two to eighteen and is great credit to Kate who has developed and managed to create another successful show together with Vicky.

"Last year was another special year for the school with enormous success throughout, and dance entries in both the Dance World Cup in Jersey and the Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Dance School’s activities continue to expand successfully with the introduction of Zumba and Acrobatic Arts."

Can’t Stop the Feeling will be performed at the Wyvern Theatre on Saturday, February 4 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and on Sunday at 4pm.
