THE Western Players are performing their latest play, Don’t Dress For Dinner, at Swindon Arts Centre this week.
The play tells the tale of Bernard, who is hoping to entertain his mistress, Suzy, at his farmhouse for the weekend, having sent his wife, Jacqueline, off to visit her mother.
He has arranged for Suzette, a cordon bleu cook to provide the gastronomic delights and his best friend Robert to provide the alibi. What could go wrong?
Well, suppose Robert doesn’t know why he was invited, Jacqueline and Robert are secret lovers and she decides to cancel her trip to Mother’s, the cook gets mistaken for the mistress and the mistress can’t cook!
Mix all this together and you have the perfect recipe for an evening of hilarious confusion as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.
Tickets are £11 from boxoffice@westernplayers.co.uk or call 07575 711522 or visit We Got Tickets.
The show runs until Saturday at 7.30pm nightly, although tomorrow night’s performance has already sold out.
