A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl from Old Town is preparing to take to the stage for the very first time to sing and dance in a performance at the Wyvern Theatre later this month.

Judith Hockaday School of Dance and Drama pupil Gracie Buy will be part of the school's new production 'Let's Make Noise!' with her classmates.

This is the school's 27th bi-annual production since it was established in the 1960s.

It will be performed at the theatre on Thursday, June 29, and Friday, June 30, at 7.30pm each day.

Cara is really looking forward to her daughter's debut performance.

She said: "Gracie's been dancing since she was three and goes to the school once a week.

"She's very excited and has been practicing a lot, she's the youngest dancer in the show.

"I used to go to the school she goes to and she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps, so I've helped her in any way I can without pushing her into doing it."

Gracie goes to King William Street School and when she's not practicing her ballet techniques, she enjoys swimming and making arts and crafts.

Cara added: "She likes doing everything creative

"Her family will all be watching in the audience on the night of the performance.

"I'm extremely proud of her and I want her to enjoy it as much as I did."

All of the pupils in the dance school are taking part in the performance and will collaborate with students of Judith Hockaday College for the spectacular showcase of song and dance.

Tickets for the production are available to buy from the Wyvern Theatre box office and swindontheatres.co.uk for £15.50 per person, including the booking fee.

The June 29 show has concessions available for £1 off the normal ticket price.
