YOUNGSTERS from Tanwood Youth Theatre will be shuffling off to Buffalo in their latest musical extravaganza when they perform 42nd Street in Swindon.

The cast and crew are aged from nine to 21 years and are chosen from members of the Tanwood School for Performing Arts, run by Pollyann Tanner, daughter of the founder Mollie Tanner.

Tanwood based in Swindon, with 14 staff, working seven days a week. has students who chosen for professional theatre work including performed for Princess Margaret at Drury Lane Theatre and Her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Festival Hall for her 60th birthday celebrations and eight pupils have appeared in Billy Elliot.

Pollyann said: “Current and former students are appearing in the West End, national tours, the Royal Ballet Company, worldwide ballet companies, TV and commercials, leading roles in feature films, news presenting, some have hosted their own TV shows, many are running their own dance schools or directing or choreographing.’’

42nd Street is based on the story of a young, American small town dancer dreaming of starring in a Broadway show, and features songs such as We’re In The Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off To Buffalo and I Only Have Eyes For you. It runs from April 13 to 15 at Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre from 7.30pm.
