Award-winning singer-songwriter Hazel O’Connor will be paying a visit to Swindon Arts Centre on Sunday with Irish Harpist Cormac De Barra, as part of their See You Again tour.

The two have been performing together for some 15 years, and their acoustic set combining the harp and Hazel’s vocals has been described as captivating.

A pop icon of the 1980s, Hazel starred as Kate in the film Breaking Glass, and wrote and sang songs for the soundtrack. The film was BAFTA nominated, while the album of the soundtrack included top ten hit singles Will You and Eighth Day. On tour, she had Duran Duran as her support band.

Hazel O’Connor was inspired by a letter from her mum to write a special song for her latest album, See You Again. The song I’ll Always Be There came from a line in a letter she discovered after her mum had died. The album was recorded in the home of Moya Brennan, lead singer with Clannad, in Ireland. Hazel will be singing songs from the new album, her chart hits, some songs from the Breaking Glass albums and telling stories. The show will be followed by a meet and greet session.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets are £21. To book, call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
