OSCAR Wilde’s cherished play The Importance of Being Earnest is to come to Chippenham and Bath later this month - but not quite as you know it.

The play, which has been reimagined by the two-strong troupe and directed by Jaq Bessell of The Globe, Broadway and West End fame, will return to Chippenham following the sell-out success at St Andrew’s Church over Christmas.

Already attracting country-wide attention, the Split Second production is making its unique mark by retelling the story through two actors who will play every single one of the characters in interesting locations all over the country.

Rapid quick changes, tap dancing, fabulous frocks and enough tea to sink a ship docked at Boston harbour mean that the audiences will be treated to an exciting show full of surprises and wit.

The Importance of Being Earnest will come to St Andrew’s Church on May 18 from 7.30pm, Kings Weston House in Bristol on May 23 at, 7.30pm and Bath Guildhall from 2.30pm and 7.30pm on May 27.
