Promises to be a special event at the quintessential English Michelin Guid pub, where Belinda will be raising money in support of her own co-founded charity ‘Animal People Alliance. Raised in Southern California, Belinda began her music career in 1977 as a member of the Los Angeles punk band the Germs, and went on to join The Go-Go’s as the lead singer in 1978. The group were part of the new wave music in America, and were the first all-female band who wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to achieve a No 1 album. After The Go-Go’s split in 1985, Belinda went on to have a successful solo career with hits such as Mad About You, I Get Weak, Circle in the Sand, Leave a Light On and Heaven Is a Place on Earth.

5 A Village Wedding - a Flower Festival opens in St Mary’s Church, Longcot, Faringdon on Saturday. There will be three studios open in the village this week for Oxfordshire Artweeks and the festival is free entry. This is the 10th Longcot Flower Festival and, the church will be open from 10am to 4pm each day – except Saturday May 26 – when one lucky couple will be getting married surrounded by beautiful arrangements! The festival ends on May 27.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event series which raises millions of pounds every year to help defeat cancer by funding life-saving research into 200 types of cancer. By taking part in Race for Life events at the beautiful Lydiard Park, you will help Cancer Research UK scientists find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease, helping save more lives. 8 The Cast of Stage Struck present a family show, Fun, Fun, Fun! from 3pm, at the Immanuel Church, Upham Road, Swindon on Saturday. It’s a show full of comedy, dance, song, supporting local charity, CALM, with 50 per cent of all ticket sales going to them. The theatre company is led by directors Michelle MacClay and Grace Matthews who have both been with the original Stage Struck for many years. TCOSS has a membership of 32, from young singers of 11 years old to veteran comedy actor Ken Jell. There will be an ABBA section with many of their well-known hits, plus some moves that every dancing queen would be proud of - not to mention sequins, flairs, and collars. 9 Wanborough Spring Horse & Dog Show 2018, begins at 9am, in the Ridgeway Stables, Foxhill, Wanborough, on Sunday. It is a multi-discipline horse show and companion dog show with refreshment and trade stands. There will be something for all ages and abilities of riders with all day clear round jumping and side saddle riders are welcome in all classes.
