A FESTIVAL celebrating the arts, music, creative writing and speech in Wiltshire will take place this weekend.
The bi-annual arts festival in Royal Wootton Bassett takes place tomorrow and Sunday at Wootton Bassett School, culminating in a concert on Sunday showcasing some of the best performers.
Organiser Miranda Shirnia said: “The festival is a fun and enjoyable way of expressing yourself.
“It allows people a chance to be assessed by an independent judge who is experienced in that field and can tell them how they are doing and what they need to do to improve, and that’s invaluable.
“We are very lucky in Bassett to have this and everyone is welcome.”
The festival has become so big that is has to be held on two occasions throughout the year.
The first part of the festival was in April, when musicians and singers were showcased. This week people will perform poetry, speeches, drama and classical guitar and open workshops run throughout the weekend.
Mrs Shirnia said: “The concert is just for fun, to celebrate some of the most outstanding performances from the whole festival.”
Daily tickets to watch the workshops cost £2.50 or £4 for the weekend. The concert on Sunday is free.
Programmes are available from Brian Taylor Music, in the HIgh Street, or on the day.
