IT HAS been a long time since I have seen an audience get to their feet en masse to give a standing ovation.

It is usually the odd person here and there with others slowly joining in – but the performance we had just witnessed by the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing was outstanding.

The five couples involved in the tour are some of the most popular from the TV show – James and Ola Jordan, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe, Matthew Cutler and Alione Vilani and Brian Fortuna and Kristina Rihanoff.

And as James pointed out at the start there were no celebrities to hold them back and no judges to chastise them for illegal lifts...they were free to do what they wanted.

Words cannot do the dances justice. Whether it was all five couples twirling around the stage in a group waltz, Vincent and Flavia kicking up their heels during the Argentine Tango or Kristina and Brian sashsaying in a sexy salsa every movement was perfect.

The highlights of the night for me were James and Ola’s Cha Cha Cha (if you’re dragging a reluctant male along they will love this dance) and the swing section, which was given an American GI treatment.

Whether you are five or 105, if you like Strictly then you will love this show.

Watching them with the celebrities you can forget these are world champion dancers – this show gives you a chance to see how good they are.
