HERALDED by critics as a comedy genius, Paul Foot will take over the Arts Centre to share his brand of ‘silly and childish’ comedy with his fans – or connoisseurs, as he likes to call them – on Wednesday, October 29.
As is to be expected, his latest show Hovercraft Symphony in Gammon # Major is a healthy mishmash of fiction, plain “lies”, observations and anecdotes.
For anyone unfamiliar with his off-kilter and self-proclaimed childish style of humour, Paul Foot is something of an oddity on today’s comedy scene.
Firstly, he boasts an unusual ‘cult following’ or fan club, better known as his Guild of Connoisseurs.
Secondly he doesn’t and never belonged to the faction of extroverted and unrestrained funny-men firing jokes at anyone within hearing distance at parties and thriving on attention.
Yet he has been known to “let rip” on stage.
The show will start at 8pm. Tickets cost £13.50. To book go to swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524481.
