POETS, storytellers and musicians are readying themselves for the grand Festival Finale on Saturday night, the climax of this year’s Swindon Festival of Literature.

Expect rhyme and rhythm, music and stories, wordplay and laughter at the cabaret-style event in Swindon Town Hall, Regent Circus, from 7.30pm.

Performers include poet Hilda Sheehan, musicians Glowglobes, flamenco duo Flame & Co, poet Matt Harvey, storyteller Chris Park, and acro-balance duo Jacob Hi-Ho and Darine Flanagan, newly returned from a tour of central America with Performers without Borders.

Glowglobes is made up of Laura Pocket on double bass, harmonica and vocals, with John Holmes on guitar and vocals. Guitarist Hayden Bonadie and singer Cristina Navazo-Eguia Newton make up the soulful flamenco group Flame& Co.

Hilda Sheehan has travelled far and wide with her poems, and has recently published a collection called The God Baby. Matt Harvey, poet, lyricist and columnist, will be performing poems old and new. His latest book is called Sit!

Storyteller Chris Park lives in a luxuriant hedge, by beehives and birds, and tells stories with their roots in fable and folklore.

Tickets are £12, concessions £10. To book, call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
