GUESTS at a Swindon hotel are sure to stay on time when the clocks change.

Blunsdon House Hotel has installed a high-tech timekeeper of every country in the world.

The wide-screen clock has a panoramic image of the globe and shows which countries are in darkness and daylight.

The hotel ditched its set of old traditional clocks which the staff had to set to the correct time of major cities such as Sydney, New York and Johannesburg.

Instead, the modern Geochrom World Time Map hangs in their place in the hotel's reception and makes a talking point.

Mandy Eclleston, from the hotel, said: "It is fascinating to look at and catches people's eye. It shows absolutely everywhere in the world.

"The screen on the top has different times corresponding to the areas below."

The old clocks were problematic and would often stop so it is a welcome feature for the staff as well, who often used to have to reset them.

Meanwhile, counsellors in Swindon warn that some people may still face winter blues at the start of British Summertime (BST) tomorrow.

Counsellors from a Time To Talk advise people who don't feel the optimism of spring to seek help and support.

Counsellor Annette Moore said: "Sometimes we are coping with strains every day that we neglect how we are feeling inside."

Time to Talk can be contacted by phone on 07722 023950 or by email at attt@btinternet.com Don't forget to put your clocks forward an hour at 1am tomorrow morning. BST will run until October 28.
