THE official investigation into the collapse of Farepak Hampers in 2006 has been completed.
The Department for Business and Enterprise's Companies Investigations Branch is now seeking legal advice on whether the evidence contained in its report merits legal action.
Consumer Affairs Minister Gareth Thomas said: "The collapse of Farepak was dreadful for the thousands of people who lost money.
"The Government is working hard to prevent other families suffering similar problems in the future."
Some 150,000 families lost about £40m savings when Westlea-based Farepak went into administration last October.
