Man in court accused of drugs farm

10:24pm Thursday 15th May 2008

A MAN has appeared in court accused of running a cannabis factory in Wroughton.

Jian Ju Wu appeared via video link at Swindon Magistrates' Court yesterday and spoke through a translator.

Wu, 20, is accused of running the drugs factory in Maunsell Way, Wroughon.

A police raid on the four-bedroom house in April revealed hundreds of plants, capable of generating £100,000 worth of drugs.

During the brief hearing, the court heard that Wu had been remanded in custody by police because he had already overstayed his visa and his address was that of the alleged cannabis factory.

Wu, who is yet to enter a plea to the charge of being concerned with the production of cannabis, was ordered to return to the court later this month.
