FAMILIES celebrated the changing seasons at a harvest festival event held at a garden centre in the town recently.
Blooms Swindon Garden Centre, off Hay Lane, near Wroughton, hosted the harvest festival on Saturday, October 20.
Steve Harrison, manager of the garden centre, said the event was a good way to provide entertainment and give people the chance to buy local produce.
“We decided to celebrate a harvest festival at the garden centre and hosted activities to entertain the whole family,” he said.
“There were a variety of stalls offering local produce including pickles, jam and honey and handmade craft items, such as jewellery.
“People over the age of 18 were able to enjoy wine and beer tasting too.”
There was also a demonstration of wood turning and wooden gifts were sold.
Blooms sells growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture as well as birdcare products, floristry, houseplants and books.
There is a giftware and greeting card department and it is now hosting a Christmas display of decorations, lights and trees.
