FUNDRAISERS have been planned in aid of a young man who is fighting for his life in an Indian hospital.

Sean Connolly, 26, who grew up in Liden before moving to London, set off for a two-week holiday earlier this month but was found collapsed in the street the next day.

He has spent more than a week critically ill in a coma with brain damage, a fever of the brain and respiratory problems.

His family and friends have set up a £100,000 campaign so they can pay to fly him home.

There will be singing and a raffle at Jesters in Greenbridge from 7.30pm on November 9 to raise funds.

The evening is called A Song for Sean and will see Sarah Eden-Winn take to the stage.

A race night will take place at Jesters from 8pm on November 24.
