Warrant issued for former Swindon shopkeeper

Swindon Crown Court Swindon Crown Court

A JUDGE has issued a warrant for the arrest of a former shopkeeper accused of stocking and selling contraband cigarettes.

Aram Salar, 27, was due to appear before a judge to face charges of breaching trademark regulations and money laundering.

But he failed to turn up for the hearing at Swindon Crown Court and Judge Douglas Field issued a warrant for his arrest.

Salar, formerly of Roseberry Street, is said to have been the manager of Istanbul in Manchester Road when the alleged offences took place.

He faces four trademark charges and charges of possessing criminal property and converting criminal property between October 2011 and February this year.
