Greenbridge Retail Park, where the body of a man was found on Monday
A MAN was found dead after CCTV operators spotted him lying on the ground at a retail park in the town.
The CCTV operators at Greenbridge Retail Park spotted the man lying motionless and when paramedics arrived he was pronounced dead.
Police were then alerted by Great Western Ambulance Service to the incident near the stream that runs behind the Pizza Hut restaurant in the middle of the large estate at around midday on Monday.
A cordon was set up and forensic teams were deployed but detectives have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
He has yet to be formally identified and a post-mortem examination is expected to take place today.
A police spokesman said: “We were alerted by GWAS to a sudden death at Greenbridge Retail Park, in Stratton Road, at midday on Monday.
“Officers found the body of a man. “At this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
“As the man has yet to be formally identified it would be inappropriate to release further details.
“A post mortem will take place today and a full report prepared for HM Coroner in Wiltshire.”
A spokesman for GWAS said: "We got a call reporting a male seen lying down on the ground on CCTV — they had spotted him and there was no movement.
“We sent a paramedic and a rapid response vehicle but on arrival the man was found to be beyond our help.
“We informed the police. There are no details regarding injuries or the cause.”
Anyone with any information that may help police with establishing the circumstances of the man’s death should call Wiltshire Police on 101.
