Volunteers needed for 2013 Swindon and Wiltshire Pride

Help make Pride event even more successful Help make Pride event even more successful

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help organise next year’s Swindon and Wiltshire Pride.

Even though memories of this year’s Pride in August are still fresh in thousands of minds, work on the 2013 event has begun.

The organising committee is reforming and newcomers are welcome. A start-up meeting will be held on Monday, November 5 at Voluntary Action Swindon from 6pm. The venue is at 1 John Street.

Jo Sharpe, who chairs Swindon and Wiltshire Pride, said: “This year’s was the biggest so far, with over 60 acts on the day spread across the three stages.

“Basshunter and Baby D were brilliant headliners for the event.

“Next year will be the sixth year, which is an amazing achievement for all involved.

“The event could not go ahead without support from the community and our sponsors, Nationwide and Unison.

“Attendance across the day was 8,000 and all the areas of the park were well supported.

“As a committee we are looking for open minded, dedicated and versatile people to help make the sixth year even more successful than previous ones.”
