Deadline nears for Swindon Council grants bids
11:35am Friday 2nd November 2012 in News
THE deadline is fast approaching for community groups and organisations to apply for the final round of grants from Swindon Council.
The council gives £150,000 a year to community organisations across the borough, with 80 having been given money so far since April.
The next funding application deadline is January 5, 2013 – the final round of the current financial year.
The council offers administration grants, which can be up to £500 and used for things such as helping small groups with their running expenses and printing their newsletters.
It also has grassroots grants, which can be up to £1,000 and can be used to help support events or projects in Swindon, as well as neighbourhood grants, which must be match-funded by applicants and are for one of three purposes, including the training and development of volunteers.
Further information on grants, eligibility criteria, and match-funding guidance along with application forms, are available on the council’s website at www.swindon.gov.uk/community grants or by ringing Alison Chamberlain on 01793 466301.
