WORKERS at Key Line Builders’ Merchants are dodging the razor and adopting the ‘chap’ look in an effort to raise funds for ‘Movember’.
Staff at the firm’s branch in Shrivenham Road began sprouting facial hair on November 1 to support Prostate Cancer UK.
The company, which works in a predominantly male industry, has supported the charity nationally for the past three years. Last year the Swindon branch raised £1,000 and it is aiming to beat that figure by the time the fundraisers finally see a razor on December 1.
Branch manager Jason Southern said: “The moustaches have been growing for a week now and some are really showing while others are quite wispy.
“There has been some grief from the lads’ other halves, but we are enjoying getting together to do something for a good cause.”
The company has decked out trucks to promote the cause and one ‘Mo’Bro’ from Swindon went without shaving from October last year to the start of this week.
Movember takes place nationally this month to support Prostate Cancer.
