YOUNGSTERS are celebrating after scoring funding to see Father Christmas next month.
Eldene Children’s Centre has been awarded £792 from The Children’s Society’s Pot of Gold funding scheme to pay for a trip to Longleat, where children and their families will see Father Christmas at the safari park.
A cheque was presented to the children’s centre’s outreach group in Nythe yesterday.
Michelle Woods, outreach coordinator, said: “The Pot of Gold is to give children and young people an opportunity to do something that they normally wouldn’t be able to do. The trip will see the children go on the train at the safari park and meet Santa.”
The children and parents helped to put the application together.
They will use the money to pay for tickets, transport and a small lunch for the trip in December.
“We are excited that we were successful in the application because we put it all together with the children and parents,” said Michelle.
