SEEING her living room brightened up with a fresh coat of paint was a Christmas Wish come true for Grace Sharman.

The pensioner, who lives in Upper Wanborough, was nominated by carer Sue Daltrey last year after her husband of 69 years, John, passed away at the beginning of 2011.

Sue said the paintwork by Saxon Design and Build had given Grace a lift and had made a big difference to the house.

“It was really lovely, it was nice for her and she was very pleased. It was a lovely thing the Adver arranged and it made it lovely for her for Christmas,” she said.

John designed the house himself and he and Grace moved in in 1952.

We launched our Christmas Wish Appeal 2012 on Monday – and we want to hear from you about the people who deserve an extra special treat this year.

From December 11 to Christmas Eve, we will be granting a wish a day for one worthy person or group in Swindon or the nearby villages.

Wishes can be big or small – our aim is simply to make Christmas as magical as possible for those who deserve it most.

If you can think of someone who really needs or deserves cheering up this Christmas, we want to hear from you today.

Tell us who the person is, why they need a Christmas Wish and how we can help. You can send in your nomination in the following ways:
