A man who was accused of assaulting a woman with a piece of crockery has had the case against him dropped.
Darren Harper had been due to stand trial at Swindon Crown Court after denying a charge of unlawful wounding.
But prosecutors dropped the allegation against the 46-year-old, of Ainsworth Road, Park South, as there was doubt about the cause of the injury.
He had been accused of striking a woman with a bowl, causing cuts to her elbow, during an alleged incident on August 19.
Harper had been in custody and was released after prosecutors offered no evidence and Judge Euan Ambrose passed a formal not guilty verdict.
