A CHRISTMAS charity market will take place at Christ Church on Saturday, November 24.

There will be about 30 stalls from local charities and church groups, offering a variety of attractions such as Christmas crafts and tombolas.

The event will be opened at 10am by Sally Rudd, who recently took the title role in Annie at the Wyvern Theatre.

Father Christmas will also be there.

The bell tower will be open, so that people can go up the narrow stairs and may even be able to ring one of the bells.

At 2pm in the church there will be a performance of Christmas carols by Christ Church choir.

This is the fourth year that the event has been organised by Friends of Christ Church.

Last year the combined turnover of all the charities was about £3,500. At 7.30pm, in the church, there will also be an organ recital by Tim Eyles, the director of music at Christ Church, showcasing the newly refurbished pipe organ.
