THRESHOLD Housing Link’s operation director Phil Smith met Ed Vaizey MP, Government minister for culture, communications and creative industries, at community radio station Swindon 105.5 on Friday.
The pair discussed homelessness in Swindon and officially launched Threshold’s 40th sponsored sleepout, which took place last night and was due to end this morning. The annual fundraising event enables Threshold to take its services directly to homeless people on the streets of Swindon. The venue for the sleepout was the car park of the Immanuel United Reform Church, Upham Road.
Sadly Threshold’s direct access Culvery Court has had to turn away and hand out blankets to 12 people from its door since December 1 as there have been no vacancies available.
