Swindon Crown Court
A MAN has been remanded in custody after admitting assaulting a man and stealing his phone.
When Ben Clack, 20, appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court he admitted grievous bodily harm and theft on Matthew Brown on Friday, September 21 this year.
Clack, of Oaksey Road, Penhill, admitted the assault on a certain basis, claiming he was struck by the victim first.
Colin Meeke, prosecuting, said the version was not necessarily accepted but added: “There is evidence of bad feeling between the two earlier.”
Rob Ross, defending, said his client was currently a serving prisoner after being convicted of other matters.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, January 11 to give the probation service time to compile a pre-sentence report.
